Project Overview
Project Overview:
The Railroad-SPS JV worked 87 days of 24/7 surges across all 4 major rapid transit lines performing track repairs that resulted in the removal of 37 speed restrictions. Our crews also completed various drainage improvements, concrete repairs, signals improvements, and traction power upgrades. The JV coordinated directly with the SPS on-call structures maintenance team to provide access for platform shoring, emergency steel repairs, leak repairs, bridge deck repairs, station improvements, and more throughout the year.
Key Challenges Overcome:
- Access was limited to the surge timeframe throughout the year.
- Track repairs were coordinated with multiple contractors and MBTA departments also working within our limits.
- Worked with MBTA real estate, the City of Boston, MassDOT, and various other entities to coordinate increased access to the tracks.
