Since 1984, SPS has been helping to rebuild New England’s infrastructure. Wherever you drive throughout Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire, there’s a good chance you will travel down a road or over a bridge built by SPS New England.

Position Description

As a Project Cost Analyst, you would be responsible for maintaining an accurate cost structure by coordinating reporting elements in which are key to developing true and accurate cost reports. This position is an interface between project management, cost management, and accounting. Someone who can understand the importance of budgeting and has great attention to detail would thrive in this role. This position is On-site.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages project costs, including reviewing construction labor, equipment, and material costs and preparing reports
  • Works closely with project team to monitor financial performance and risks on construction projects
  • Preparing Pay Requisitions/Invoices and submitting to Owner/ Agencies
  • Assisting with construction project purchasing
  • Review and approve invoices and subcontractor requisitions.
  • Tracking change orders and back charges
  • Preparing recapitulation sheets
  • Prepare labor production summary reports and Cost to Complete reports
  • Analyzing financial risks and opportunities
  • Performing monthly cost and revenue projections
  • Data Entry

Position Requirements

Requirements: 

  • Excel Experience (advanced preferred)
  • Great attention to detail–Ability to identify/recognize inconsistencies
  • Must be comfortable working in field offices and traveling within means
  • Vista Viewpoint or HCSS (Heavy Job) experience preferred
  • Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Engineering Preferred AND/OR construction industry experience
  • Required experience: 0 – 3 years.
