Job Overview: SPS New England is seeking a skilled and reliable Auto Mechanic to join our team and provide high-quality maintenance and repair services for light trucks and vehicles. The ideal candidate will have experience working on a variety of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems, and be able to diagnose and fix mechanical issues efficiently. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic tests on light trucks and vehicles to identify mechanical issues.
- Inspect and maintain engines, transmissions, brakes, exhaust systems, and other vital components.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and filter replacements.
- Repair or replace defective parts and components, including timing belts, spark plugs, alternators, and batteries.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and components, such as alternators, wiring, and lighting.
- Test vehicles to ensure that repairs and maintenance meet safety and performance standards.
- Maintain an organized work environment and ensure that tools, equipment, and parts are kept in good condition.
- Follow manufacturer’s specifications and safety standards while performing repairs and maintenance.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest industry developments and repair techniques.
- Maintain accurate service records for each vehicle worked on.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an auto mechanic, with a focus on light trucks and vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostic tools, and repair techniques.
- ASE certification (or similar certification) is preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Welding and fabrication skills are a plus
