SPS New England, Inc., one of the leading heavy highway contractors in New England, is seeking a highly motivated individual to perform duties on Bridge and Highway construction projects.

Since 1984, SPS has been helping to rebuild New England’s infrastructure. Wherever you drive throughout Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire, there’s a good chance you will travel down a road or over a bridge built by SPS New England.

Position Description

SPS New England is looking for heavy highway construction laborers with a CDL-A or CDL-B drivers license to join our bridge maintenance division. Must be willing to operate a jackhammer / chipping gun and travel in Massachusetts.  Driving will be triaxle dump truck with 20 foot tag along trailer. We also have mobile mix trucks and occasional vac truck driving.  This is a night shift position that has a typical work schedule of Sunday night through Thursday night. Union position paying prevailing wage & Union benefits.  Non-union drivers may apply but will need to join the union through SPS within a two week probationary period.

Position Summary:

A Triaxle/Six-Wheeler/Mixer Truck Driver is responsible for driving on the project to complete various task including but not limited to: export of excavated materials off site, import of materials to site, moving of equipment and or materials onsite and other driver related duties on site.

Position Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all Safety policies and procedures including reporting all accidents, incidents.
  • Follow daily procedures as instructed by Project Superintendent and/or Operations
  • Able to work with crews on site as necessary either in truck on the ground.
  • The following must be performed on a daily basis, Trash should be removed from truck at end of shift, truck must remain clean as possible and windows washed at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Must have 2-4 years of construction related experience
  • CDL A or B.
  • Clean driving record.
