Project Overview

Project Overview:

  • Project is centered around bringing various bridge components up to an acceptable rating following deficiency reports. A large variety of scopes are completed at bridge locations around the City. Projects listed below are some of the major repair locations to date:
    • Glenwood Ave Pedestrian Bridge over the Neponset River Keolis – Full clean and paint, 25,000+ pounds of structural steel repairs, redecking the timber walkway, protective screen install, lighting replacement, concrete approach and encasement work.
    • Jones Ave Pedestrian Bridge over Keolis – Demolished over a weekend outage.
    • Old Long Island Bridge – Recovered granite blocks from the ocean floor and reinstalled in the pier.
    • Moon Island Causeway – Slope repairs to prevent continued roadway erosion. Will complete approximately 2000’ feet of repairs between two different mobilizations.
    • Moakley Bridge – Replaced 30+ light pole bases, upcoming work includes jacking the entire bridge to replace three bearings and reset five others.
    • McArdle Bridge – We have responded to several emergencies at this location including holes in the bridge deck within the travel lanes. Two official work orders have also been released to prevent movement in the rolling track girders and complete phased deck repairs along the length of the bridge. Upcoming work also includes replacing grid decks in the bascule span.
    • Resurfacing and substructure repairs at three bridges in the Dorchester area. Included using ultra-high performance concrete (20,000+ psi) to replace the shear key grout.
    • 25+ locations have been completed under the project.
