Dedham Street I-95 Interchange
Project Overview
The project consists of widening Dedham St from a two lane roadway to four travel lanes (two in each direction), with a sidewalk and bike lanes, and constructing an off-ramp from I-95 NB to Dedham St. The project includes a full bridge replacement of Dedham St over I-95, bridge widening of the Dedham St bridge over the Neponset River and the Dedham St bridge over the MBTA/Amtrak Railroad, and two timber pedestrian bridges. In order to facilitate the roadway widening and offramp and onramp work, nineteen retaining walls are to be constructed; nine MSE walls, seven cast-in-place walls, and three masonry walls. There are three proposed traffic signals which will be located at the following intersections on Dedham St; I-95 SB onramp, I-95 NB offramp and Shawmut Rd. The project also includes numerous utility relocations (electric, communication, water, and gas).
