Project Overview

This project replaced a historic timber bascule drawbridge in a tidal, environmentally sensitive area while maintaining commercial fishing boat access. The work required cofferdams, tremie pours, deep pipe piles, mass concrete placements, structural steel, mechanical and electrical systems, timber fenders and timber roadway decking. Coordination with the USCG, the Town of Chatham, the local utility companies, and MassDOT was very successful.

Services Performed

The SPS team successfully performed installation of steel pipe pile foundations with cofferdams and tremie concrete, mechanical and electrical systems, historic feature replication,and lighting and safety features.
