Award-winning Design-Build Specialist

SPS specializes in Design-Build projects. Our team successfully pioneered the first heavy-lift bridge construction project in Massachusetts, as well as 8 other accelerated projects. Our Design-Build projects have incorporated award-winning Alternative Technical Concepts that have enhanced each project’s design and overall value for clients.

SPS Incorporated

1984 - SPS is founded by Wayne, Phil, and Karen Capolupo in Salisbury, MA
1991

First Suspension Bridge - York, ME

1991 - SPS takes on it's first suspension bridge project, the Wiggley Bridge in York, ME
1996

SPS purchased first push boat (Baby Kelly) and set of 3 sectional barges

1996 - The SPS Marine Fleet was created with the purchase of our first push boat and 3 sectional barges
2004

Add-a-lane

2004 - SPS began a nearly decade long stint of projects in the Canton, Dedham, Westwood, MA area creating an "SPS South" presence far from the home base in Salisbury, MA.
2009

First Design Build - Grafton, MA

2009 - SPS completed the first design build project, also the first in-state, in Grafton, MA. It was also the year that SPS joined with their first JV Partner to complete a new interchange in Freetown, MA
2010

Purchased Everett Yard

2010 - Purchase of the Everett Yard, a high-quality marine terminal on the Island End River in Everett, MA off the Mystic River, with a deep water port linking directly to Boston Harbor.
2019

SPS opened new HQ

2019 - To accommodate the continued corporate growth, SPS opened the doors to the newly expanded office
2022

SPS Finished First 100M Project - Haverhill, MA

2022 - SPS's first project over 100M was completed in Haverhill, MA
2024

40th anniversary
